Being the first day of a new month, I am happy and grateful to write out my Blessing Exchange checks, BEs for short – commonly referred to by most folks as ‘bills’ and done with growls, snarls, bad moods, anger and resentment.
With each BE I write, I express my thanks for what the other party has given me in exchange: electricity to warm my home, power my tech tools, heat my tea water, read at night; live in a warm, dry & protective home that I could move into before having paid the entire purchase price; extend me credit so that I could receive the groceries, services and goods at the time I wanted them, then pay for it all at one time with one company…you get it.
I’m reminded of one person’s experience with this first of the month task: “prepare for the bad mood that paying bills would put them in.” Too bad for you to have all of that negativity swirling within.
I choose gratitude as I count my many blessings.
How about you?
